IHCL Expands Presence in Varanasi with Signing of New Ginger-Branded Hotel

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has announced the signing of a new Ginger-branded hotel in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The hotel, a Greenfield project on a fully fitted operating lease, will embody the brand’s lean luxe design and service philosophy, offering guests a vibrant, contemporary, and seamless hospitality experience.

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, expressed the company’s dedication to Varanasi, stating, “This signing underscores IHCL’s steadfast dedication to Varanasi, one of the world’s oldest living cities with deep cultural and religious significance. This will be IHCL’s fourth hotel in the city. We are delighted to partner with Banaras Beads Export Private Limited for this Ginger hotel.”

Strategically positioned in the Lahartara Phulwaria intersection, the 101-key hotel will provide easy access to renowned tourist destinations such as the Kashi Vishwanath temple. The hotel will feature Qmin, the signature all-day diner offering a delightful array of global and local favorites, along with modern amenities including a state-of-the-art fitness center and well-equipped meeting rooms.

Shivani Gupta, Managing Director of Banaras Beads Export Private Limited, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are excited to be associated with IHCL, India’s leading hospitality company. The introduction of this Ginger hotel will further enrich the city’s hospitality landscape.”

Varanasi, nestled on the banks of the river Ganges, is one of Hinduism’s most revered cities, renowned for its picturesque ghats and venerable temples.

With this addition, IHCL will have 23 hotels in Uttar Pradesh under Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta, and Ginger brands, including 10 under development.
