Akash Bansal: Building a Legacy at Novotel Kolkata – A Remarkable Ascent to Director of Operations

Akash Bansal’s rise to his current position as Director of Operations at Novotel Kolkata – Hotel & Residences is a testament to his dedication, leadership, and passion for the hospitality industry. His leadership journey began with a role as Assistant Restaurant Manager at The Imperial in New Delhi. This was the place which sowed the strong seeds of foundation which is inevitable to flourish.

From there, Akash moved to Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces in Gurgaon, where he took on the role of Restaurant Manager. His responsibilities included managing financials, guest relations, marketing and planning, and training and motivating his team. His ability to maintain brand standards and analyse costs contributed significantly to the hotel’s success.

Seeking broader horizons, Akash then joined Danat Hotels & Resorts in Abu Dhabi as a Bars Manager. His couple of years there were marked by a deep understanding of beverage operations and customer preferences which further enriched his expertise in the hospitality sector.

His next step was at The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts in Bengaluru, where he served as Banquet Operations Manager. This role allowed him to showcase his ability to manage large-scale events and operations seamlessly. His tenure was short but impactful, as he introduced innovative ideas to streamline banquet operations and enhance guest experiences.

Marriott International became Akash’s next professional home, where he spent six years in various roles, steadily climbing the ladder. As Assistant Food and Beverage Manager in Kolkata, he demonstrated his prowess in managing food and beverage operations with efficiency. His subsequent promotions to Assistant Director of Food and Beverage, Operations Manager in Siliguri, and finally Director of Food and Beverage in Kolkata reflected his consistent performance and leadership qualities.

At Marriott, Akash was known for his strategic thinking and operational excellence. He led diverse teams, implemented cost-saving measures, and maintained the highest standards of service, contributing to the hotel’s reputation and profitability.

Now, as the Director of Operations at Novotel Kolkata – Hotel & Residences, Akash brings his extensive experience and visionary leadership to the forefront. His role involves overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring smooth functioning and exceptional guest experiences. He continues to mentor his team, fostering a collaborative environment where innovative ideas are encouraged and supported.
