DMRC and ASI Collaborate to Make Delhi’s Historic Landmarks Easily Accessible with New App Integration

In an exciting development for history enthusiasts and travelers, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), has launched an innovative feature within the DMRC Momentum 2.0 app. This new initiative allows visitors to seamlessly purchase tickets for ASI-managed monuments alongside their metro travel passes, simplifying sightseeing in the capital.

This collaboration brings significant benefits for both local commuters and international tourists by providing easier access to some of Delhi’s most iconic historical sites. Here’s an overview of the key features of the newly integrated service:

Key Features:

  1. Monuments Included:
The new feature allows users to conveniently purchase tickets for renowned ASI-managed monuments such as Humayun’s Tomb, Lal Quila (Red Fort), Qutub Minar, and Purana Qila, offering a smooth, integrated booking process.
  2. Unified Ticketing System:
The app introduces a new QR-based ticketing system that enables visitors to book both metro and monument tickets in a single transaction, providing a more efficient and time-saving solution for tourists exploring Delhi’s historical landmarks.
  3. Historical Signage:
Informative boards highlighting key historical facts will be placed at select metro stations, helping travelers learn more about the cultural and historical significance of Delhi as they journey across the city.
  4. Promoting Cultural Awareness:
DMRC and ASI will jointly organize public events and leverage digital platforms to further raise awareness about Delhi’s rich cultural heritage, encouraging a deeper connection with the city’s historical sites.
  5. Convenience and Accessibility:
The integrated ticketing system offers a simplified, one-stop solution for planning trips, allowing visitors to seamlessly access both metro and monument locations. This initiative reflects Delhi’s ongoing efforts to preserve its heritage while enhancing travel convenience for everyone.

Special Arrangements for IITF 2024:

In conjunction with the monument ticketing feature, DMRC is also offering easier access to the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024. Tickets for the event, being held at the Bharat Mandapam Complex, can now be purchased online through the Delhi Sarathi app, starting November 11.

Additionally, QR-coded tickets and 8-seater golf carts will be available to help attendees navigate the venue comfortably, particularly catering to families, seniors, and individuals with mobility needs.

Educational Initiatives for Commuters:

This collaboration also serves as an educational tool, with historical signboards placed at metro stations to help commuters gain insight into the significance of Delhi’s heritage sites. The initiative fosters a deeper understanding of the city’s historical treasures, enriching the travel experience.

A Progressive Step Forward:

The partnership between DMRC and ASI represents a forward-thinking approach to cultural tourism in Delhi. By combining convenience with heritage education, this initiative not only enhances the travel experience but also makes Delhi’s historic landmarks more accessible to all.

This collaboration reflects Delhi’s vision to merge modern solutions with the celebration of its cultural history, ensuring that visitors can enjoy and connect with the city’s rich legacy in a more seamless and enjoyable manner.
