Utsa Majumder: Redefining Excellence and Leadership in Hospitality

Utsa Majumder’s remarkable journey in hospitality is a testament to her dedication, leadership, and passion for the industry. Starting her career as a Guest Service Officer (GSO), Front Office at Hyatt Regency Kolkata, Utsa demonstrated exceptional commitment and rose steadily through the ranks.

Her career milestones include key roles such as Assistant Manager-Front Office at Hyatt Regency Pune as a pre-opening team, Assistant Front Office Manager at Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa, and Front Office Manager at Hyatt Place Hampi again as a pre-opening team. Utsa’s ability to lead teams and deliver excellence paved the way for her appointment as First Assistant General Manager at Hyatt Place Hampi and then to another pre-opening assignment at Hyatt Place Pune,Hinjewadi.

In October 2016, with 11 years of experience, Utsa took her first assignment of her prestigious role, as a General Manager, opening and positioning Hyatt Place Rameswaram in a beautiful Island at the Southern part of the country. After 2 years, she moved on as the General Manager of Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort, opening and positioning the beautiful mountain Resort. Over the past six and a half years, she has transformed the property into one of the most sought-after destination in Himachal Pradesh, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while fostering team growth.

Beyond her 19 years of contribution to Hyatt, Utsa is also the President of the Himachal Pradesh WICCI Hospitality and Tourism Council, where she champions initiatives to promote tourism and empower women in hospitality. She was also recognized as one of the *Top 20 General Managers of 2024 by Hospitality Tip Of  The Day*

Utsa’s journey exemplifies perseverance and vision, making her an inspiration for aspiring hoteliers. With her strategic mindset and unwavering commitment, she continues to set benchmarks in the hospitality industry. She is being appreciated and applauded for her people managing skills and she continues to authenticate that the People are the key assets to function, genuine Care remains the foundation to success.
