Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport Appoints Abhishek Sachdev as General Manager

Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport is delighted to announce the appointment of Abhishek Sachdev as its new General Manager. With a diverse experience spanning almost two decades, he is poised to lead the hotel into its next phase of growth and transformation.

Abhishek began his career as a Management Trainee with ITC Hotels and subsequently, joined the pre-opening team at ITC Gardenia, Bangalore. After receiving an MBA in Hospitality Administration from the prestigious École Hôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland, he diversified towards global fundraising and executed special projects for the Indian Head Injury Foundation (IHIF). Marking his return to the sector, Abhishek progressed from heading rooms at Taj Bekal Resort & Spa to leading Operations at Taj Fisherman’s Cove, Chennai.

He joined Marriott International in 2019 as Hotel Manager at Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata and played a pivotal role towards the property’s successful launch. Abhishek was elevated to the role of Director of Hotel Openings, South Asia in 2022, where he managed pre-opening activities for 35 new openings and conversions, further strengthening the brand’s presence in the region. Now, stepping into his new role in Mumbai, he is eager to drive innovation while preserving the hotel’s strong legacy. His vision focuses on leading a comprehensive room renovation, reimagining the hotel’s food and beverage offering, and raising the bar on guest experiences.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Abhishek shared, “Mumbai has a unique way of finding its place in your heart — and over the years, it certainly found its way into mine. After supporting multiple hotel openings across South Asia for Marriott International over the past 3 years, I felt it was an apt time to return to hotel operations. Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport, with its legacy, strong brand equity, and deep rooted guest loyalty, felt like the perfect place to do so. I’m excited to begin this new journey with a brand that’s both trusted and beloved in the city.

Over 70% of our guests in the past year have been Marriott Bonvoy members — a testament to their loyalty and the confidence they place in us. As Marriott’s footprint expands across South Asia, we expect this number to grow even more. My focus will be on ensuring consistent, elevated service while introducing a refurbished product paired with engaging Food and Beverage experiences that keep our guests excited to return.”

With Abhishek at the helm, Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport is poised for an exciting chapter, reinforcing its position as a preferred choice for business and leisure travelers alike.
