IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Hotel Eastern Nepal Pvt Ltd to develop Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dhulabari, set to open in 2026. This marks the second partnership between the two companies, following the successful launch of Holiday Inn Resort Kathmandu Budhanilkantha.
Part of the globally trusted Holiday Inn Express brand — with more than 3,200 hotels worldwide — the new property will offer smart, efficient service, modern design, and versatile spaces for both business and leisure travellers. The hotel will feature 99 rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, a rooftop dining venue, a banquet hall, fitness centre, and ample parking facilities.
Strategically located in the Jhapa District near the Nepal–India border at Kakarvitta, and just a short distance from Chandragadi Domestic Airport, the hotel will provide easy access for domestic and international guests. The Pathibhara Devi Temple, one of the region’s most revered pilgrimage sites, is only 15 km away.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said:
“The opening of Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dhulabari will strengthen our presence in Nepal and further build on our strong partnership with Hotel Eastern Nepal Pvt Ltd.”
Mrs. Binita Thapa Khadka, Chairperson of Hotel Eastern Nepal Pvt Ltd, added:
“Our earlier collaboration with IHG showcased their operational excellence and strong brand value, giving us the confidence to move forward with this exciting project. Dhulabari is an emerging hub with great potential for growth.”
The hotel will cater to business travellers, leisure tourists, and local guests, including those from the region’s thriving commercial and agricultural sectors. With limited branded hotel options currently in the area, it is expected to become a sought-after venue for meetings, events, and social gatherings.
IHG currently operates 51 hotels across six brands in India and has 72 more in the pipeline over the next three to five years — reinforcing its commitment to expansion in South Asia.
