The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur Welcomes Chef Arun Mathur as Executive Chef – A New Culinary Era Begins

The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur—one of the world’s most iconic and award-winning luxury resorts—has announced the appointment of Chef Arun Mathur as Executive Chef, ushering in an exciting new chapter for the property’s renowned culinary journey. Known globally for its palatial grandeur, timeless Oberoi hospitality, and extraordinary guest experiences, Udaivilas is set to elevate its dining offerings under Chef Mathur’s visionary leadership.

With nearly 30 years of hospitality experience, including close to two decades with The Oberoi Group, Chef Mathur embodies the brand’s philosophy of excellence, innovation, and authenticity. Over the years, he has played a defining role in shaping the gastronomic identity of multiple Oberoi and Trident properties across India.

Most recently, Chef Mathur led the kitchens at Trident Bandra Kurla, Mumbai, where he also oversaw the success of Amadeo by Oberoi and Cou Cou by Oberoi, acclaimed for introducing contemporary flair to the city’s fine dining scene. His tenure at Trident Gurugram (2020–2024) was equally notable, curating experiences that combined creativity with consistency. At The Oberoi, New Delhi (2017–2019), he contributed to the hotel’s culinary renaissance post-renovation, balancing innovation with the Oberoi hallmark of perfection.

An alumnus of the Institute of Hotel Management, Delhi, Chef Mathur’s culinary philosophy revolves around creating meaningful, memorable dining experiences through a fusion of authenticity, innovation, and attention to detail. His formative years with The Park Hotels and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts enriched his foundation, but it is his 19-year journey with The Oberoi Group that stands as a testament to his dedication and artistry.

As he takes charge at The Oberoi Udaivilas, Chef Mathur is poised to reimagine its celebrated dining experiences by blending the rich flavors of Rajasthan with global influences, offering guests an extraordinary taste of both tradition and innovation.
