Dave Montrose Joins First Hospitality as Chief Operating Officer, Bringing Three Decades of Industry Leadership

First Hospitality Group Inc. has announced the appointment of Dave Montrose as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), marking a significant leadership milestone for the national hotel operating and development company. With more than 30 years of hands-on experience in hospitality operations, Montrose steps into the role at a time when strategic execution, operational efficiency, and guest-centric innovation are more critical than ever.

As COO, Montrose will oversee all operational functions across First Hospitality’s diverse portfolio. His mandate includes driving profitability, strengthening operational consistency, and enhancing guest experiences across branded, independent, and luxury properties. He will lead core teams spanning operations, commercial strategy, people services, accounting, and IT, while also mentoring senior leaders to ensure alignment with the company’s long-term vision.

Montrose’s career reflects deep expertise across full-service, select-service, independent, and ultra-luxury resorts throughout the United States. He has successfully programmed, launched, and opened hotels in dynamic markets such as Austin, Nashville, and Indianapolis—demonstrating a strong ability to scale operations while preserving brand identity and service excellence.

Prior to joining First Hospitality, Montrose held senior leadership roles at some of the industry’s most respected organizations, including Highgate Hotels, White Lodging, and Brush Creek Ranch, an award-winning ultra-luxury resort. Most recently, he led InnVentures, managing a portfolio of over 85 hotels and reinforcing his reputation for large-scale operational excellence.

A graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Management, Montrose combines academic grounding with real-world leadership. His appointment signals First Hospitality’s commitment to operational strength, people-first leadership, and sustainable growth across the U.S. hospitality landscape.
