Park Hyatt London River Thames has appointed Eike Clausen as its new General Manager, bringing almost two decades of international luxury hospitality experience to one of Hyatt’s prominent properties in London.
With a career spanning four continents, eight countries, and nine luxury hotels, Clausen has built extensive experience in hotel operations, commercial strategy, guest experience, and team development. His appointment comes at an important time as Park Hyatt London River Thames continues to establish itself in London’s highly competitive luxury hotel market.
Eike Clausen’s International Hospitality Journey
Before joining Park Hyatt London River Thames, Clausen served as Cluster General Manager at Kempinski Palace Portorož in Slovenia and Kempinski Hotel Adriatic in Croatia. In the role, he was responsible for overseeing operations across two luxury properties in different European destinations.
Much of Clausen’s career was spent with Kempinski Hotels, where he took on a variety of senior positions covering sales and marketing, rooms division, hotel operations, and executive management.
His journey into general management began with his appointment as General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Aqaba in Jordan, setting the stage for a leadership career that would take him across multiple international hospitality markets.
From Sales Trainee to Luxury Hotel Leader
Clausen’s career began at the operational level as a sales trainee, before progressing through increasingly senior roles within the luxury hospitality industry.
He is a graduate of the prestigious École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), one of the world’s leading hospitality management institutions. His education, combined with extensive international experience, has helped shape his approach to hotel leadership and business development.
