Nairobi, Kenya — Aleph Hospitality has appointed Rob Kucera as Regional Vice President for East & South Africa, marking another strategic step in the independent hotel management company’s expansion across the African hospitality market.
Based in Nairobi, Kucera will lead Aleph Hospitality’s operations across East and South Africa, overseeing a portfolio of more than 25 hotels across six brands, 20 destinations and nine countries. His appointment brings extensive regional experience to a role focused on strengthening both existing hotel operations and the company’s future growth.
Rob Kucera to Oversee Regional Hotel Operations
In his new position, Kucera will be responsible for the financial, commercial and operational performance of Aleph-managed hotels across the region. He will work closely with hotel owners to enhance performance, identify opportunities for growth and support the development of new properties.
His responsibilities will also include talent development, human resources and management team building, areas that are increasingly important as Africa’s hospitality sector continues to evolve and attract investment.
Beyond hotel performance, Kucera will support community engagement initiatives designed to generate positive economic and social impact in the destinations where Aleph Hospitality operates.
More Than 20 Years of International Hospitality Experience
Kucera joins Aleph Hospitality with more than two decades of experience across international hotel operations, hospitality investment and regional leadership.
Before taking up his new role, he served as Complex General Manager and District Director for East Africa at Radisson Hotel Group, where he was responsible for a portfolio covering Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia and South Sudan. The position gave him extensive exposure to the diverse operating environments and hospitality markets across the region.
His earlier career includes General Manager roles at Radisson Blu Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul, Pearl of Africa Hotel by Radisson Hotels in Kampala and The Westin Cape Town. These assignments have given Kucera experience working across different markets, hotel brands and ownership structures.
Experience Across Hotel Operations and Investment
Kucera’s background also extends beyond traditional hotel management. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer of the Hospitality Property Fund, a South African hotel-focused real estate investment trust.
He also chaired the FEDHASA Cape Board, adding industry leadership and governance experience to his operational background.
This combination of hotel management, investment and regional market expertise positions Kucera to take on a broad mandate at Aleph Hospitality as the company continues to develop its African portfolio.
