Kimpton Miralina Appoints Dimitrios Bessis as Managing Director

Paradise Valley, Arizona, USA | September 2026

Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas has appointed Dimitrios Bessis as Managing Director, adding an experienced hospitality and resort operations executive to its leadership team as the Arizona property moves closer to completing a major transformation.

Bessis will oversee the resort’s overall operations as Kimpton Miralina progresses toward an expanded 404-key footprint. His role will span operational performance, financial management, guest experience, team leadership, and the delivery of the resort’s expanding portfolio of accommodation, dining, wellness, and event experiences.

Kimpton Miralina Enters Final Phase of $70 Million Transformation

The appointment comes as Kimpton Miralina enters the final phase of a $70 million transformation, which is scheduled for completion in early 2027. The redevelopment is set to significantly expand the resort while introducing new accommodation and lifestyle experiences.

As part of the transformation, the resort will add 134 Valley Villas along with The Enclave, a hotel-within-a-hotel concept featuring 10 residences. The property will also welcome Katsuya, the contemporary Japanese restaurant from lifestyle hospitality group sbe, marking the brand’s debut in Arizona.

The expansion will give Kimpton Miralina a broader accommodation mix, combining traditional hotel rooms with villa and residential-style offerings designed to appeal to luxury leisure travelers seeking greater space and a more varied resort experience.

Dimitrios Bessis Brings Extensive Resort Operations Experience

Bessis joins Kimpton Miralina following his role as Vice President of Operations at Rentyl Resorts, where he managed a diverse hospitality portfolio that included resorts, a theme park, and restaurants.

In that position, he was responsible for operational strategy and financial performance across multiple areas of the business, providing him with experience in managing complex hospitality environments and maintaining operational standards across different guest-facing experiences.

Before becoming Vice President of Operations, Bessis served as Area Resort General Manager at NDM Hospitality/Rentyl Resorts. He oversaw two vacation resorts, a water park, and two restaurants, with responsibilities covering budgeting, forecasting, labor planning, financial performance, and brand standards.

Multi-Property Leadership Across the Hospitality Sector

Bessis also previously held the position of Area General Manager with Aimbridge Hospitality, where he managed a four-property portfolio. The role further strengthened his experience in multi-property operations, financial oversight, and performance management.

His hospitality career began with Interstate Hotels & Resorts, where he held a series of property-level leadership positions before progressing to Corporate Task Force General Manager.

In that capacity, Bessis supported both full-service and select-service hotels, working across areas such as staffing, financial operations, and capital improvement projects. This experience provided a strong foundation in hotel operations and positioned him for increasingly senior leadership responsibilities throughout his career.

A Leadership Role During a Major Resort Expansion

Bessis brings a combination of resort operations, multi-property management, financial leadership, and transformation experience to his new position at Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas.

His background is particularly relevant as the property prepares to operate on a significantly larger scale. The addition of villas, residences, new dining concepts, and expanded guest experiences will require operational systems and service standards to evolve alongside the resort’s growing inventory.

As Managing Director, Bessis will have a central role in coordinating these elements while maintaining the guest experience associated with the Kimpton brand.

Kimpton Miralina Prepares for Its Next Chapter

With the $70 million redevelopment approaching completion, the appointment of Dimitrios Bessis represents another step in Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas’ preparations for its next phase.

Once the transformation is completed, the resort will offer a more extensive combination of hotel accommodation, villas, residences, dining, wellness, and event experiences in Paradise Valley.

Bessis’ experience across resort operations and multi-property hospitality management is expected to support the property as it transitions into its expanded 404-key resort offering, strengthening its position as a comprehensive luxury resort destination in Arizona.
