With a background spanning hotel operations, sales and marketing, Rodriguez is set to lead the resort as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Jake Rodriguez Takes the Helm at The Scottsdale Resort
Rodriguez joins The Scottsdale Resort after nearly five years with Driftwood Hospitality Management, where he held several leadership positions across hotel operations, sales and marketing. His extensive experience in the hospitality sector positions him to oversee the resort’s operations while continuing to enhance the guest experience.
As General Manager, Rodriguez will be responsible for the resort’s day-to-day operations, guest services and team leadership. The property features 318 guest rooms and suites, along with approximately 90,000 square feet of meeting and event space, making it a significant destination for leisure travelers, business groups, weddings and celebrations.
The Scottsdale Resort Celebrates 50 Years
Rodriguez’s appointment comes at an important milestone for the property as The Scottsdale Resort & Spa celebrates its 50th anniversary. The milestone highlights the resort’s long-standing connection with the Scottsdale community while creating an opportunity to build on its reputation and further develop its offerings.
Located in the McCormick Ranch community, the full-service resort provides guests with a combination of accommodation, dining, wellness, recreation and event experiences. Its amenities include multiple dining venues, Luna Spa, pickleball facilities, a golf simulator and access to the nearby McCormick Ranch Golf Club.
Under Rodriguez’s leadership, the resort will continue focusing on its leisure offerings, meetings and events, dining experiences, wellness facilities and golf-related experiences.
Extensive Hospitality and Leadership Experience
Rodriguez brings a diverse hospitality background that combines operational leadership with expertise in sales and marketing.
Before joining The Scottsdale Resort, he served for two years as General Manager of Canopy by Hilton Tempe Downtown. Earlier in his career, he held the position of Area Director of Sales for Canopy by Hilton Tempe Downtown and DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix Tempe.
His professional experience also includes hotel openings and property conversions. Rodriguez has helped launch two hotels and managed two additional property conversions while working in General Manager and Operations Director roles.
His work in sales and hospitality leadership has also earned industry recognition. His accolades include Director of Sales of the Year with Remington Hotels and Sales Leader of the Year with Driftwood Hospitality Management.
A Phoenix Native Returns to Lead in Scottsdale
Rodriguez’s appointment also brings a strong local connection to The Scottsdale Resort. As a Phoenix native, he understands the local market and brings personal familiarity with the region’s hospitality and tourism landscape.
His leadership approach places an emphasis on employee development and creating a collaborative workplace culture. By focusing on his team as well as the guest experience, Rodriguez aims to support the resort’s continued growth and development.
Outside of work, Rodriguez enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. A lifelong sports fan, he also enjoys golf and outdoor activities.
