Singapore: Minor Hotels has appointed Judd Rabbidge as the General Manager of Avani Singapore Hotel, marking an important step ahead of the brand’s debut in Singapore. The new property, which will be the group’s first Avani hotel in the city-state, is scheduled to open in Q2 2027.
Rabbidge brings more than two decades of international hospitality experience to the role, along with extensive expertise in hotel operations, pre-opening projects, sales and marketing. His appointment comes as preparations gather pace for the highly anticipated launch of Avani Singapore Hotel.
Judd Rabbidge Brings More Than 20 Years of Hospitality Experience
An Australian national, Rabbidge has built an international hospitality career spanning Australia, the Maldives, Indonesia, Fiji and Europe. His diverse experience includes leadership roles across luxury hotels, resorts and major international hospitality brands.
Before taking on his new position, Rabbidge served as General Manager of Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort, a role he has held since July 2024. His experience with Minor Hotels gives him an understanding of the Avani brand and its operational approach, which will be valuable as he prepares to introduce the brand to Singapore.
Rabbidge previously worked as Hotel Manager at W Sydney, where he was involved in the property’s pre-opening and launch. With 588 rooms, the hotel is the largest W Hotels property in the world.
Strong Background in Hotel Operations and Commercial Strategy
Between 2018 and 2022, Rabbidge served as Director of Sales and Marketing at W Bali – Seminyak, where he gained extensive experience in commercial strategy, sales and destination marketing.
His earlier career includes operational roles with Marriott properties across the region, along with senior management positions with Mantra Group. This combination of operational and commercial experience has allowed him to develop a broad understanding of hotel management, revenue generation, sales strategy and market positioning.
His background in both hotel operations and pre-opening projects will be particularly relevant as Avani Singapore moves toward its launch.
Leading Avani’s First Hotel in Singapore
As General Manager, Rabbidge will oversee the preparations leading up to the opening of Avani Singapore Hotel. His responsibilities will include building and developing the hotel team, preparing operations, establishing commercial strategies and creating the overall guest experience.
He will also work closely with Minor Hotels’ regional and corporate teams to prepare the property for Singapore’s highly competitive hospitality market.
The appointment comes at an important time for Avani as the brand expands its presence across Asia. Singapore, known for its strong international tourism, business travel and hospitality sectors, will provide a new market for Avani’s contemporary approach to hotel stays.
Avani Singapore Hotel Set to Open in Q2 2027
Avani Singapore Hotel is scheduled to welcome guests in Q2 2027 and will represent the brand’s first property in Singapore.
The upcoming hotel is expected to bring Avani’s focus on contemporary design, energetic service and accessible hospitality to one of Asia’s major travel and business destinations.
With Rabbidge leading the pre-opening phase, the hotel will now move closer to its planned debut as Minor Hotels prepares to establish the Avani brand in Singapore.
Rabbidge’s Hospitality Education
Rabbidge holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Hospitality, Tourism and Business Management from the Pacific International Hotel Management School in New Plymouth, New Zealand.
His academic background, combined with more than 20 years of international hospitality experience and involvement in major hotel openings, provides a strong foundation for his new leadership role.
As preparations continue, Rabbidge will lead the team responsible for bringing Avani Singapore Hotel to life and preparing the property for its planned opening in 2027.
