Chedi Hospitality has announced the appointment of Tristan Delmas as General Manager of Chedi Wadi Safar, an upcoming ultra-luxury resort set to open within the Wadi Safar destination in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
Located near the UNESCO World Heritage Site of At-Turaif and approximately 15 minutes from central Riyadh, the new resort is expected to add another distinctive address to Saudi Arabia’s rapidly expanding luxury hospitality sector. In his new role, Delmas will oversee the property’s pre-opening preparations and help shape its operational strategy ahead of launch.
Tristan Delmas Brings More Than 15 Years of Luxury Hospitality Experience
Delmas brings over 15 years of international experience spanning luxury hotels, hotel operations, pre-openings and strategic hospitality advisory. His career has taken him across some of the world’s most recognised luxury hospitality destinations.
Before joining Chedi Wadi Safar, Delmas served as Head of Hospitality at Barnes International, where he was responsible for developing the company’s hospitality division and expanding its French-inspired hospitality concept.
His previous experience includes serving as Hotel Manager, Pre-Opening at One&Only One Za’abeel in Dubai, where he was involved in preparing the hotel, residences and extensive food and beverage operations for their launch.
Delmas also held the position of Hotel Manager at Burj Al Arab, one of Dubai’s best-known luxury hospitality landmarks. Earlier in his career, he worked in leadership positions with Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris and Park Hyatt properties in Beijing and Washington, D.C.
His professional background also includes experience with hospitality advisory firm HVS, where he worked on strategic consulting assignments involving hospitality developments across Saudi Arabia, the Maldives, Europe and the wider Middle East and North Africa region.
Leading the Pre-Opening of Chedi Wadi Safar
As General Manager, Delmas will be responsible for guiding the resort through its pre-opening phase while establishing its operational framework, service culture and overall guest experience.
His appointment comes at an important point for Chedi Hospitality as the brand introduces a refreshed identity and its new philosophy, “A Voyage Unbound.” The concept focuses on exploration and meaningful experiences, drawing inspiration from landscape, architecture and space, creativity, social connection and sensory discovery.
Chedi Wadi Safar is expected to become the first property in the portfolio to fully adopt the refreshed brand identity, making its opening a significant milestone in the evolution of Chedi Hospitality.
Chedi Wadi Safar to Bring a New Luxury Experience to Diriyah
Set within the Wadi Safar masterplan, Chedi Wadi Safar is being developed as an intimate luxury retreat that combines the brand’s understated approach to hospitality with locally inspired experiences and the cultural character of Saudi Arabia.
The resort will be located within the Wadi Safar Signature Golf Course, designed by renowned golf course architect Greg Norman. The development is planned to feature approximately 85 suites and villas, alongside 20 branded private villas designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG).
Guests will also have access to a collection of signature dining and wellness experiences, designed to complement the resort’s wider focus on relaxation, discovery and immersive hospitality.
A New Chapter for Luxury Hospitality in Saudi Arabia
With Tristan Delmas leading the pre-opening preparations, Chedi Wadi Safar is poised to become a notable addition to the growing luxury hospitality offering in Diriyah and Saudi Arabia.
As Diriyah continues to develop into a major cultural, tourism and hospitality destination, the arrival of new ultra-luxury properties such as Chedi Wadi Safar reflects the Kingdom’s broader transformation of its tourism landscape.
For Chedi Hospitality, the upcoming resort also represents an opportunity to bring its refreshed brand philosophy to life in one of Saudi Arabia’s most significant emerging destinations.
