Baron Hotels & Resorts has promoted Reda Etawy to Hotel Manager of Baron Palace Sahl Hasheesh, recognising more than 28 years of experience in luxury hospitality and his long-standing contribution to the group. Announced in October 2026, the promotion highlights the company’s commitment to developing talent internally and strengthening leadership at its flagship Red Sea resort in Egypt.
Previously serving as Resident Manager, Etawy will now oversee the property’s overall operations, including Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Spa, Leisure and Guest Services. His priorities will include enhancing guest satisfaction, improving revenue performance and maintaining the high service standards expected at a luxury resort.
A Career Built Within Baron Hotels & Resorts
Reda Etawy’s professional journey reflects years of dedication and steady progression within Baron Hotels & Resorts. He began his career with the group as Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Baron Resort Sharm El Sheikh, where he oversaw six outlets and managed a team of more than 70 employees.
He later joined Baron Palace Sahl Hasheesh as Food & Beverage Manager before being promoted to Director of Food & Beverage. In that position, he managed more than 10 outlets and led a team of over 240 employees.
During his tenure, Etawy introduced revenue-enhancement initiatives through upselling and marketing activities while redesigning menus to improve service performance and the overall dining experience.
His experience in managing large teams and multiple food and beverage operations helped establish a strong foundation for his subsequent leadership responsibilities.
Progression into Senior Hotel Management
Following his success in food and beverage leadership, Etawy was promoted to Executive Assistant Manager, becoming the second-in-command for the resort’s Rooms and Food & Beverage operations.
His responsibilities extended beyond daily hotel management. He coordinated the resort’s support for COP27, delivered German hospitality training programmes, streamlined standard operating procedures and managed departmental budgets.
In 2024, he advanced to the position of Resident Manager, gaining broader responsibility for the resort’s operational performance and guest services.
His latest promotion to Hotel Manager represents another milestone in a career shaped by operational experience, team development and a detailed understanding of the property’s service standards.
Expertise in Luxury Hospitality and Operational Excellence
Etawy brings extensive knowledge of luxury hotel operations, including Forbes and LQA standards, budget control, key performance indicator management and crisis management.
His experience with performance metrics such as Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR), Gross Operating Profit (GOP) and the Guest Satisfaction Index will support his focus on balancing commercial performance with guest expectations.
He also holds a Master of Public Administration from the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism and a bachelor’s degree from the Australian College of Applied Education.
This combination of practical hospitality experience, financial management and team leadership positions him to guide the resort’s continued development.
Leading Baron Palace Sahl Hasheesh into Its Next Chapter
Etawy takes on his new role as Baron Palace Sahl Hasheesh builds on a successful period for the property. The resort recently received the Quality Hotel Award at the TUI Global Hotel Awards 2026, recognising its standing within the hospitality sector.
The property has also continued to host significant events, including a recent medical conference attended by more than 200 doctors, demonstrating its ability to accommodate professional gatherings alongside leisure stays.
As Hotel Manager, Etawy will focus on maintaining consistent service delivery, strengthening operational performance and developing the resort’s workforce.
Commenting on his promotion, Etawy said, “I am proud and grateful to lead a resort that has been part of my professional life for so many years. Our team is our greatest strength, and my priority is to keep raising the guest experience through consistent service, attention to detail and investment in our people.”
His appointment reflects the value of internal career development within the hospitality industry, where long-term experience with a property can provide leaders with a detailed understanding of its teams, operations and guest expectations.
Baron Hotels & Resorts’ Commitment to Developing Talent
Etawy’s promotion highlights Baron Hotels & Resorts’ approach to recognising experienced employees and supporting their progression into senior leadership positions.
His career within the group demonstrates how experience across different operational departments can prepare hospitality professionals for broader management responsibilities.
By appointing a leader who understands the resort’s operations and culture, the group aims to maintain service consistency while continuing to strengthen its flagship property’s position in Egypt’s luxury tourism market.
