Vietnam’s luxury hospitality scene continues to evolve beyond indulgence and aesthetics, focusing more on authentic cultural immersion and wellness-driven travel. On the sun-drenched Cam Ranh peninsula, The Anam Cam Ranh is redefining guest experiences with its newly introduced weekly “Coconut Harvesting” activity — a refreshing blend of tradition, nutrition, and hands-on discovery.
Rather than beginning with a bartender mixing tropical drinks, this experience starts high above the ground among swaying coconut palms, where guests witness coconuts being harvested directly from the trees before enjoying them moments later in their freshest form.
A Unique Coconut Harvesting Experience in Cam Ranh
Held every Thursday from 10am to 11am at the resort’s wellness and recreation precinct, the coconut harvesting experience invites guests to discover one of Vietnam’s most iconic natural treasures in an engaging and educational setting.
Skilled gardeners climb towering coconut trees in full view of visitors, carefully selecting mature coconuts before demonstrating the art of trimming and opening them — a skill that often proves surprisingly difficult for first-time travelers to Vietnam.
The session goes far beyond simply drinking coconut water. Guests are introduced to the lifecycle of coconuts, learning how long they take to mature, how to identify peak ripeness, and the differences between young and mature coconuts. Younger coconuts typically offer sweeter, lighter water, while mature coconuts contain thicker, richer flesh.
Fresh Coconuts Packed with Natural Health Benefits
Freshly opened within minutes of harvest, the coconuts provide naturally sweet hydration rich in essential electrolytes such as potassium and magnesium. The experience also highlights the nutritional value of coconut meat, known for its healthy fats, dietary fiber, and longstanding role in Vietnamese cuisine and traditional wellness practices.
According to The Anam Group’s group general manager, Laurent Myter, the simple authenticity of the experience resonates strongly with guests.
“A freshly harvested coconut, in my opinion, resonates more than a glass of champagne,” Myter said, emphasizing how the activity creates a deeper connection between travelers and Vietnam’s natural landscape.
Wellness and Sustainability at the Heart of The Anam Cam Ranh
The coconut harvesting experience forms part of the resort’s larger wellness and recreation precinct, designed to encourage outdoor activities, healthy living, and sustainable travel experiences.
Guests staying at The Anam Cam Ranh can also enjoy access to an organic farm, running track, tennis court, soccer field, driving range, and an 18-hole mini-golf course.
The resort’s sustainable farm plays a significant role in its culinary offerings. Fresh eggs collected onsite are served during breakfast, while organically grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs are incorporated into both Vietnamese and international dishes across the property’s restaurants and bars.
Ingredients such as Vietnamese pennywort, morning glory, red amaranth, passionfruit, cucumber, mint, and green calamansi appear throughout menus and signature cocktails served at the resort’s dining venues including Lang Viet Restaurant, The Beach Club, The Indochine, The Colonial, and Saigon Bar.
Luxury Hospitality Inspired by Vietnam’s Indochine Era
Overlooking 300 meters of beachfront on Vietnam’s scenic Cam Ranh peninsula, The Anam Cam Ranh blends colonial-era Indochine charm with contemporary luxury.
The five-star beachfront resort features 77 villas alongside 136 rooms and suites, complemented by multiple dining venues, a luxury spa, indoor and outdoor cinemas, three swimming pools, wellness facilities, yoga spaces, and extensive recreational offerings.
The property is part of The Anam Group, which has expanded its luxury portfolio with the opening of The Anam Mui Ne and the beachfront convention venue Axi Plaza.
With travelers increasingly seeking meaningful and wellness-oriented experiences, The Anam Cam Ranh’s coconut harvesting activity offers a refreshing reminder that luxury can sometimes be found in life’s simplest pleasures — straight from the tree to the hands of the guest.
