Meena Bhatia is an Hotelier with over 4 decades of luxury hotel experience. She started with Oberoi Grand, Kolkata and thereafter moved on to spearhead the Sales as Associate Director of Sales in Hyatt Regency Hotel Delhi.
After doing her graduation in English from University of Delhi, Meena did her Post Graduate Diploma in Travel, Tourism & Hospitality Management form IMM, Kolkata; and went to Cornell University Ithaca, United States of America to do her General Managers Program.

At present Meena Bhatia is Vice President & General Manager at Le Meridien New Delhi. She is the head of Strategic Planning, Brand Management and Business Development of the Hotel and has been at the heart of driving transformational change in Le Meridien New Delhi from being a pure five star property to an iconic luxury hotel.Extremely conscious about the brand standards, she introduces and implements Brand Programs, assesses and ensures that the Brand Standards are adhered to.

I did go on to up-skill myself with professional hospitality trainings, from IIM Kolkata and many years later from Cornell University in Ithaca, USA. My latest learning has been a very inspiring programme from Stanford University on ‘High Performing Women Leaders’.
Meena is an Executive Council member of CII –Indian Women Network and to be a part of the National Advisory Board of WICCI – Tourism & Hospitality.

She says” These platforms gave me an immense opportunity to give back to the industry and the community at large. I have always been passionate about Skill Development and have initiated various projects, including those at WICCI, to train and skill youth for the Hospitality industry. In my years in the business, I have had the most wonderful opportunity to meet, engage and even work closely with multiple women from varied backdrops, cultures and those in diverse stages of life.

It is encouraging to see women considering careers in Hospitality, with determination and all seriousness. However, it is heartbreaking to see that many women, especially, in the vulnerable stage of raising a family, give up their careers.
I have had some of the most accomplished industry leaders as mentors, most worthy colleagues, very receptive mentees and many friends who are like an extended family.

Meena is also a managing Committee member of the Hotel & restaurant association of North India. Additionally she has been on the panel for various Tourism & Hospitality events, Guest Speaker at Hospitality Institutes and is actively involved with various CSR activities especially initiatives taken for “Women Empowerment” and “Save The Girl Child” with various institutes like Concern India Foundation, CII Tourism Committee She is also on the Committee of “Pragati” that celebrates achievements of Women, organized by AIMA.
Meena Bhatia has won many national and international awards for the Hotel including Travel & Leisure Best Business Hotel, PATWA award for Best Hospitality professional, Best Mice Hotel awarded by Today’s Travel, and most recently the “Shakti” Award conferred by SATTE.
