Taj Coromandel, an iconic landmark in the heart of the Chennai, celebrates five decades of unmatched hospitality and timeless sophistication. Set up in 1974, Taj Coromandel Chennai has been a symbol of fine living and warm Indian hospitality, enchanting guests from around the globe with its rich heritage and immaculate service. Taj Coromandel had the honour of hosting the 1st Education Working Group Meeting of the G20, where delegates from across the G20 member countries stayed at the hotel and experienced the essence of Taj hospitality. As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations, guests who choose to stay with Taj Coromandel Chennai between May 17 and May 31, 2024 can enjoy a 50% discount on Best Available Rates for room stay and a further 50% discount on Sunday Brunches. To add to the celebration, a captivating 50-year video will play in the cars via iPads/Tabs. Guests can also enjoy turn-down chocolates featuring the iconic 50 years logo.

Celebrating Timeless Cuisine

To commemorate its golden jubilee, Taj Coromandel Chennai presents a culinary journey revisiting its legendary restaurants and iconic menus that have defined the dining experience in Chennai. From the traditional Mysore and the charming Pavillion to the much-loved Golden Dragon and Fort S. George, this celebration of timeless cuisine has been put together by Executive Chef Sujan Mukherjee and his team of master chefs. Guests can dine at Southern Spice, Anise, Golden Dragon, La Patisserie or Chipstead, for an enticing experience that promises a memorable journey into the days of the past. All these dining experiences will be on 50% discount.

At Golden Dragon, one of the first restaurants to introduce fine Sichuan cuisine to Chennai, guests can enjoy the whiff of nostalgia laced with an array of flavours and tastes from May 1 – 15, 2024. From May 17 – 31, Anise, erstwhile Pavilion, presents signature dishes reminiscent of Pavilion’s legacy. Guests are invited to take a walk back in time and savour some authentic South Indian recipes at the award-winning Southern Spice, erstwhile Mysore, from June 1 – 16, 2024.  At La Patisserie, Chennai’s favourite Cake Shop & Delicatessen, guests can revel in some creatively crafted sweet masterpieces by Pastry Chef Ravi Varma, from July 1 – August 3, 2024. Raise to toast to 50 years with signature cocktails inspired by the old classics from Fort S.
