In celebration of International Chefs Day, the Indian Culinary Forum (ICF) hosted an exhilarating four-day culinary extravaganza — the 22nd Annual Chef Awards. Over 150 talented chefs from across India showcased their creativity and mastery across ten categories, turning kitchens into vibrant stages of artistry, innovation, and passion.
The event united seasoned culinary experts and rising talents, reflecting the unstoppable energy of India’s thriving food culture. From intricate desserts to regional classics, every dish told a story — one of heritage, technique, and inspiration.
The competition began at the Institute of Bakery & Culinary Arts (IBCA), New Delhi, where chefs battled it out in the Master Chef Baker and Master Chef International Confectionery categories. The creations were nothing short of edible art — showcasing technical finesse, attention to detail, and the soulful expression of each chef’s culinary identity.
The excitement continued at the Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, where participants competed in diverse categories:
Master Chef North Indian Cuisine
Master Chef Indian Sweets
Master Chef Butcher
Master Chef Kebabs
Master Chef International Cuisine
Master Chef South/East/West Cuisine
Master Chef Oriental Cuisine
Student Chef of the Year
Every plate reflected a perfect harmony between tradition and modernity, proving once again that Indian cuisine’s strength lies in its diversity.
An esteemed panel of WACS-certified jury members, led by Chef Mahesh Kumar Sharma (Vice President, Shiv Vilas Jaipur) and Chef Bharat Khemani (Organizing Secretary), brought their vast experience and insight to evaluate each creation. Dishes were judged for taste, presentation, creativity, and technical skill, ensuring a transparent and fair competition.
Speaking about the initiative, Chef Davinder Kumar, President of the Indian Culinary Forum, shared:
“The Annual Chef Awards represent the heart and soul of India’s culinary excellence. Each year, we see extraordinary innovation and artistry from chefs who continue to redefine the boundaries of gastronomy.”
Chef Kumar emphasized that the event is not just about competition but about nurturing future leaders of the culinary world — a space where learning meets recognition.
Adding to this, Chef Vivek Saggar, General Secretary of the Indian Culinary Forum, remarked:
“Every participant is a winner. These competitions are as much about growth and learning as they are about recognition. The passion and perseverance of our chefs truly reflect the essence of Indian cuisine.”
The culmination of this culinary celebration will be the Grand Chef Awards 2025, to be held at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi. The night will honor the best of the best — bringing together chefs, restaurateurs, food enthusiasts, and industry stalwarts for an unforgettable celebration of culinary brilliance.
