Anthony Bar Joins Carter Hospitality Group as Executive Chef to Elevate Temecula Wine Country Dining

In the heart of Southern California’s picturesque wine country, an exciting new culinary chapter is unfolding. Carter Hospitality Group has welcomed acclaimed chef Anthony Bar as Executive Chef for its flagship Temecula properties—South Coast Winery Resort & Spa and Carter Estate Winery and Resort—marking a bold step toward redefining luxury dining experiences in the region.

With this strategic appointment, the group is not just filling a leadership role—it’s elevating its entire culinary vision.

Anthony Bar steps into a dynamic role where he will oversee every aspect of food and beverage operations across both resorts. From crafting innovative menus to ensuring seamless kitchen operations, his influence will be felt across every dining touchpoint. Guests can expect a refined yet approachable dining experience, whether indulging in signature dishes at the award-winning Vineyard Rose Restaurant, enjoying a relaxed meal at the poolside Vineyard Grill, or savoring curated in-room dining.

Beyond everyday dining, Bar will also spearhead large-scale culinary experiences, including weddings, corporate gatherings, and special events—areas where precision, creativity, and consistency are key.

Originally from Lille, France, Anthony Bar brings with him over two decades of global culinary expertise. Rooted in classical French training, his cooking style is a thoughtful blend of tradition and innovation. He is known for transforming seasonal, locally sourced ingredients into elevated, memorable dishes that resonate with modern travelers seeking authenticity and flavor.

Before joining Carter Hospitality Group, Bar made a significant impact as Executive Chef at Newton’s Saddlerack in Texas, where he reimagined the venue’s culinary offerings. His talent also reached a wider audience through his role as Executive Chef for the Hulu series Vanderpump Villa, where he curated and executed more than 150 dishes per season under high-pressure production conditions.

His journey across renowned restaurants in California and Texas reflects a rare ability to balance fine dining sophistication with the demands of high-volume service—an essential skill in a destination known for both intimate getaways and grand celebrations.

With Anthony Bar at the helm, Carter Hospitality Group is reinforcing its commitment to culinary excellence and innovation. The Temecula resorts are poised to become even more compelling destinations—not just for their award-winning wines and scenic landscapes, but for truly unforgettable gastronomic experiences.

For travelers seeking a blend of luxury, flavor, and wine country charm, Temecula just got even more irresistible.
