In a landmark decision, the Assam Cabinet, under the leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma, has approved the region’s first-ever five-star hotel—set to be developed by the renowned Polo Hotels Group.

With an investment of approximately ₹103 crore, this project is more than just a hotel—it’s a transformational leap for the Barak Valley’s tourism, business, and events landscape.

For years, Silchar has served as the commercial and administrative backbone of Southern Assam, yet it lacked premium hospitality infrastructure. This upcoming five-star property is set to change that narrative.

The hotel will feature around 100 elegantly designed rooms and suites, blending international luxury standards with the cultural essence of the Barak Valley.
