In a strategic move that reflects both growth and vision, Duygu Tatar has been appointed as the new Group Tourism Director of Brand and Marketing Communications at JOALI. This leadership transition marks a significant step forward as the brand continues to expand its footprint in the global luxury tourism landscape.
With more than 15 years of expertise in marketing and communications, Tatar brings a wealth of experience and deep-rooted brand knowledge to her new role. Having been an integral part of the Gürok Group since the early stages of her career, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the identity and international positioning of JOALI.
Previously serving as Senior Cluster Director of Marketing Communications, Tatar spearheaded branding strategies for JOALI Maldives and JOALI BEING. Her leadership during this phase helped the brand achieve remarkable global recognition, including features on prestigious international lists and multiple industry awards.
Beyond marketing excellence, Tatar also contributed to the conceptualization of innovative dining experiences within the resorts—creating award-winning restaurant concepts that enhanced guest engagement and elevated the overall luxury experience.
In her expanded role, Tatar will now lead brand and communication strategies not only for JOALI but also for Ali Bey Hotels & Resorts and BIJAL—an emerging concept positioned as the Mediterranean’s first villa hotel brand. This new responsibility places her at the center of crafting a cohesive yet dynamic narrative across diverse hospitality offerings.
Her appointment signals a unified branding approach, ensuring consistency while maintaining the individuality of each property under the portfolio.
Located in the breathtaking Raa Atoll, JOALI Maldives stands as the brand’s flagship property, redefining luxury through immersive art and storytelling. The resort features 73 meticulously designed villas that seamlessly blend sustainability with high-end design, offering guests an experience that goes beyond traditional luxury.
Duygu Tatar’s promotion underscores JOALI’s commitment to innovation, creativity, and excellence in the luxury tourism sector.
