YOTEL has announced a significant leadership update as part of its ongoing global expansion strategy, appointing seasoned hospitality executive Paul Harnedy as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Alongside this appointment, the innovative hotel brand has also promoted two senior leaders from within its organization, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth, operational excellence, and talent development.
Paul Harnedy Joins YOTEL as Chief Operating Officer
With more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Paul Harnedy brings a wealth of operational and commercial expertise to YOTEL. In his new position as Chief Operating Officer, he will oversee the brand’s global hotel operations and commercial strategy across its growing international portfolio.
Before joining YOTEL, Harnedy served as Executive Vice President and Head of Asset Management at Cedar Capital Partners. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held several senior leadership roles within some of the hospitality industry’s most recognized organizations.
His previous positions include Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director at Amaris Hospitality, Vice President of Operations at Interstate Hotels & Resorts, and Operations Director roles with InterContinental Hotels Group and RBH. His extensive experience managing large-scale hotel operations across Europe and the United States positions him perfectly to support YOTEL’s ambitious growth plans.
As YOTEL continues expanding into new markets, Harnedy’s expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring consistent guest experiences, operational efficiency, and strong commercial performance across all properties.
YOTEL Promotes Internal Talent to Strengthen Leadership Team
In addition to welcoming Harnedy, YOTEL has announced the promotion of two long-serving executives, highlighting the company’s dedication to nurturing talent from within.
Michael Whitehead has been promoted to Senior Vice President, People, Talent & Learning. Having spent seven years with YOTEL, Whitehead will now lead the company’s global people strategy, focusing on talent management, employee engagement, organizational development, and learning initiatives.
His leadership will be instrumental in building a strong workforce capable of supporting YOTEL’s continued growth across international markets.
Meanwhile, Ryan Dance has been elevated to Senior Vice President, Commercial Strategy. In this expanded role, he will oversee a broad range of commercial functions, including revenue management, sales, marketing, digital platforms, commercial operations, and e-commerce.
Dance’s appointment reflects YOTEL’s focus on strengthening its commercial capabilities and driving long-term revenue growth while enhancing customer engagement across all channels.
Leadership Changes Support YOTEL’s Global Expansion
Commenting on the appointments, YOTEL Chief Executive Officer Phil Andreopoulos emphasized the importance of strong leadership as the company continues to expand its global footprint.
He noted that Paul Harnedy brings extensive operational expertise gained from leading international and multi-brand hospitality businesses. According to Andreopoulos, the combined leadership strengths of Harnedy, Whitehead, and Dance will help build the operational and commercial capabilities required to support disciplined and sustainable growth in both existing and emerging markets.
The leadership changes come at a time when YOTEL is actively expanding its presence across key destinations worldwide, making experienced leadership more important than ever.
What This Means for the Future of YOTEL
These strategic appointments demonstrate YOTEL’s commitment to strengthening its operational foundation while investing in leadership development and internal talent. As competition within the global hospitality sector continues to intensify, the company is positioning itself for long-term success through experienced leadership, innovative thinking, and a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
The enhanced executive team will play a vital role in driving operational excellence, improving commercial performance, and delivering the technology-driven guest experiences that have become synonymous with the YOTEL brand.
