Surat, Gujarat: Le Méridien Surat has announced the appointment of Manoj Jangid as its new General Manager, bringing a seasoned hospitality professional with more than two decades of experience to lead the hotel through its next phase of growth.
With an extensive career spanning globally recognised luxury and premium hospitality brands, Manoj will be responsible for driving the hotel’s strategic vision, strengthening operational excellence, and enhancing guest experiences. His appointment comes at an important stage for Le Méridien Surat as the hotel continues to establish itself as one of the city’s leading premium hospitality destinations.
Two Decades of Hospitality Leadership
Manoj brings broad expertise across hotel operations, commercial performance, food and beverage, revenue optimisation, and organisational leadership. Over the course of his career, he has developed a strong understanding of both the operational and commercial aspects of running successful hotels.
His leadership journey has also been strengthened through the Marriott Leadership Development Programme and the Accor Hotels Leadership Development Programme, giving him valuable exposure to structured leadership practices within some of the world’s leading hospitality organisations.
Experience Across Leading Hotel Brands
Before joining Le Méridien Surat, Manoj held leadership roles at Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, and Sofitel Mumbai BKC. These experiences allowed him to work across diverse hotel environments while developing his expertise in operations, food and beverage, guest experience, and team leadership.
His contribution to the hospitality sector has also earned significant industry recognition. Manoj was named BW Hotelier’s General Manager of the Year for the East Zone in both 2024 and 2025. Earlier, he received the Food & Beverage Manager of the Year award for the West Zone in 2018.
These accolades highlight his consistent focus on operational excellence, strategic decision-making, team development, and creating memorable experiences for guests.
A New Vision for Le Méridien Surat
In his new role, Manoj will focus on enhancing every stage of the guest journey while supporting the hotel’s commercial growth. His priorities will include strengthening operational standards, developing talent, encouraging innovation, and building a collaborative workplace culture.
A key part of his vision is to create experiences that connect guests with the character and cultural identity of Surat. Rather than viewing hospitality simply as accommodation and service, Manoj aims to make the hotel a destination where guests can experience a stronger sense of place.
Focus on Weddings and Celebrations
Alongside elevating the hotel’s overall guest experience, Manoj plans to strengthen Le Méridien Surat’s position as a preferred venue for weddings, social celebrations, and milestone occasions.
His vision includes creating bespoke events that combine elegant settings, personalised experiences, and the hotel’s signature hospitality. This focus could further enhance the hotel’s appeal among guests looking for premium venues for important personal and social occasions.
Manoj Jangid Shares His Vision
Speaking about his appointment, Manoj Jangid, General Manager, Le Méridien Surat, said, “It is both an honour and an exciting opportunity to lead Le Méridien Surat at such a significant milestone in its journey. He also highlighted the hotel’s ambition to become a preferred destination for weddings, social celebrations, and milestone events.
Looking Ahead for Le Méridien Surat
With Manoj Jangid taking the helm, Le Méridien Surat enters a new chapter focused on strengthening its hospitality offering while continuing to build its presence in western India’s competitive premium hotel market.
His combination of operational expertise, commercial understanding, leadership experience, and passion for guest experiences is expected to play an important role in shaping the hotel’s future growth.
