The Hari London, The Hari Hong Kong and the upcoming The Hari Singapore are set to join IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Vignette Collection, creating a new chapter for the independent luxury hotel brand.
Announced on August 17, 2026, the partnership will take effect later this year and brings together two established The Hari properties in London and Hong Kong with the highly anticipated Singapore hotel, which is scheduled to open in Spring 2027.
The move strengthens a relationship between the Harilela Group and IHG that has already spanned more than five decades, while giving The Hari access to IHG’s international network and loyalty programme without losing the distinctive character that defines the brand.
The Hari Expands Its Partnership With IHG
The Hari has built its reputation around a style of hospitality that combines relaxed luxury, art, culture and highly personal service. Joining Vignette Collection is designed to preserve that identity while connecting the hotels with a wider global community of travellers.
Vignette Collection is IHG’s collection brand for independent luxury and boutique hotels. Unlike traditional chain properties, participating hotels retain their own names, designs and personalities while gaining access to IHG’s global distribution, technology and IHG One Rewards loyalty programme.
For The Hari, the partnership offers an opportunity to grow internationally without becoming a conventional branded hotel.
“Joining the Vignette Collection preserves The Hari’s character while connecting our brand to a global community of travellers who value individuality and authenticity,” said Dr Aron Harilela, Chairman and CEO of Harilela Group and founder of The Hari.
The Hari Singapore to Become Vignette Collection’s First Property in the Market
The upcoming The Hari Singapore is set to be a particularly notable addition to the collection. Scheduled to open in Spring 2027 at 11 Cavenagh Road, the property will become Vignette Collection’s first hotel in Singapore.
The arrival gives travellers another independent luxury option in one of Asia’s most popular business and leisure destinations. It also strengthens IHG’s presence in the region while introducing The Hari’s design-led approach to a new market.
The Hari Singapore joins The Hari London and The Hari Hong Kong, which opened in 2016 and 2020 respectively.
A Hotel Brand Built Around Art, Culture and Local Experiences
One of The Hari’s defining features is its focus on creating hotels that feel connected to their surroundings rather than isolated from them.
The properties were designed by acclaimed British interior designer Tara Bernerd, with layered interiors, carefully selected artwork and rotating collections featuring both established and emerging artists.
Guests are also encouraged to explore destinations beyond the usual tourist attractions. At The Hari London, insider guides introduce visitors to neighbourhoods such as Belgravia, while experiences such as The Hari Neighbourhood Guide Audio Tour offer a more personal look at the city.
In Hong Kong, Wan Chai By Night takes guests into the character and energy of one of the city’s most fascinating neighbourhoods.
This emphasis on local discovery fits closely with Vignette Collection’s philosophy of celebrating individuality, community and a strong sense of place.
A Focus on Responsible and Community-Focused Hospitality
The partnership is also built around shared values beyond luxury and design.
Vignette Collection highlights two key concepts: “Memorable Rituals” and “A Means For Good.” The ideas encourage hotels to create distinctive guest experiences while making a positive contribution to their communities.
The Hari has pursued similar initiatives through projects including the annual The Hari Art Prize, which supports emerging artistic talent with backing from the Harilela family.
The brand also holds EarthCheck certifications and works with charitable organisations, reinforcing its focus on environmental responsibility and community engagement.
The Harilela Group’s Long Hospitality Legacy
The Hari is the vision of Dr Aron Harilela and forms part of the wider Harilela Group, a family-owned hospitality business established in 1959.
Today, the Harilela Group owns 15 properties across Hong Kong, China, Asia, Europe and the United States. The new Vignette Collection partnership builds on decades of experience in hotel ownership and development while positioning The Hari for its next phase of growth.
According to Dr Harilela, the brand was created by distilling the family’s experience in hospitality into a hotel concept centred on relaxed elegance, individuality, culture and intuitive service.
IHG’s Vignette Collection Continues Its Global Expansion
The Hari partnership comes as Vignette Collection continues to expand rapidly.
IHG says the collection currently has more than 80 open and pipeline hotels and is tracking ahead of its goal of reaching more than 100 properties within its first decade.
“Welcoming The Hari’s portfolio marks Vignette Collection’s debut in Singapore and strengthens our presence in London and Hong Kong,” said Rajit Sukumaran, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, East Asia & Pacific, IHG Hotels & Resorts.
For IHG, adding The Hari strengthens its luxury and lifestyle portfolio with a brand that already has a distinctive identity and an established following among travellers seeking more personalised hotel experiences.
What the Partnership Means for Travellers
For guests, the partnership could offer the best of both worlds: the individuality of an independent luxury hotel combined with the convenience of a major international hospitality group.
Travellers staying at The Hari properties will continue to experience the hotels’ distinctive design, art collections, local experiences and personalised hospitality. At the same time, the association with IHG provides greater global visibility and access to the wider IHG ecosystem.
This balance is increasingly appealing to modern travellers who want more than a standardised hotel stay. Instead of simply booking a room, guests are looking for properties that tell a story and give them a genuine connection with the destination.
The Hari Enters Its Next Chapter
The partnership between The Hari and Vignette Collection represents more than a new affiliation. It brings together The Hari’s independent spirit and IHG’s international reach at a time when travellers are increasingly drawn to authentic, experience-led hospitality.
With The Hari London and The Hari Hong Kong joining the collection later this year, followed by the opening of The Hari Singapore in Spring 2027, the partnership is set to give the brand a stronger presence across key global destinations.
For The Hari, the goal appears clear: grow globally without losing what makes the brand feel personal, distinctive and deeply connected to its destinations.
