Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe has appointed Shannon Schwier as its new General Manager, bringing a seasoned hospitality professional with extensive Four Seasons experience to lead the luxury resort in New Mexico.
Schwier returns to a key property leadership role after serving as Opening Resort Manager at Naples Beach Club, A Four Seasons Resort. With years of experience spanning hotel operations, resort openings and international assignments, her appointment brings a strong mix of operational expertise and global hospitality experience to the Santa Fe property.
An Experienced Four Seasons Hospitality Leader
Schwier’s journey with Four Seasons began in 2013 at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, where she joined as Director of Housekeeping. Her strong operational leadership soon led to her promotion to Director of Rooms, expanding her responsibilities across the guest experience and hotel operations.
Her career then took her overseas to Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, giving her valuable international exposure and a deeper understanding of luxury hospitality across different markets.
In 2018, Schwier moved to New York, taking on the role of Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown. The position further strengthened her experience in managing complex urban hotel operations while maintaining the high service standards associated with the Four Seasons brand.
Strong Experience in Hotel and Resort Openings
One of the defining aspects of Schwier’s career has been her involvement in major hotel and resort openings.
In 2021, she was appointed Opening Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale. In this role, she helped establish operational standards and played an important part in preparing the property for its launch.
Her experience continued with Naples Beach Club, A Four Seasons Resort, where she served as Opening Resort Manager. The assignment allowed her to work closely with employees, ownership representatives and development partners while helping shape the resort’s operations and guest experience.
This combination of opening experience and hands-on operational leadership is expected to be particularly valuable as she takes charge of Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe.
Leadership Experience Across the Four Seasons Portfolio
Schwier’s experience with Four Seasons extends well beyond her primary hotel assignments. Over the years, she has taken part in interim leadership positions and task-force assignments at several properties, including The Surf Club, Anguilla, Philadelphia, Beverly Wilshire and Nashville.
These assignments have given her the opportunity to work in different hospitality environments and support properties during periods of transition and operational change.
She has also contributed to corporate initiatives, further broadening her understanding of the Four Seasons brand and its approach to luxury hospitality.
A Global Traveller With a Passion for Music
Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Schwier holds a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy with a minor in Music from the University of Indianapolis. She has also completed professional development programs through Cornell University.
Her personal interests closely reflect her career in hospitality. Schwier is an enthusiastic traveller who has visited all 50 U.S. states and more than 60 countries.
She has also stayed at more than 90 Four Seasons properties, giving her an unusually broad perspective on the brand, its service culture and the details that shape a luxury guest experience.
Schwier will relocate to Santa Fe with her husband, Christian, and their two cats as she begins her new leadership role.
Leading Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe
As General Manager, Schwier will oversee the resort’s day-to-day operations and lead its team while maintaining Four Seasons’ commitment to personalised service and operational excellence.
Her extensive background across luxury hotels, resort openings, international assignments and different Four Seasons properties positions her well to lead the Santa Fe resort into its next chapter.
For guests visiting Santa Fe, where the destination is known for its distinctive culture, landscapes, art and Southwestern character, her leadership will be focused on creating the kind of thoughtful and personalised experiences that remain at the heart of the Four Seasons brand.
