Hyatt Hotels Corporation has appointed Guido Fredrich as Vice President of Development, Luxury and Lifestyle for Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME), strengthening its leadership team as the company continues to expand its luxury and lifestyle hospitality portfolio across the region.

His appointment comes at an important stage for Hyatt, which is steadily growing its presence in some of the world’s most competitive luxury and lifestyle hotel markets.

Guido Fredrich to Lead Luxury and Lifestyle Development Across EAME

In his new position, Fredrich will focus on supporting Hyatt’s development strategy for its Luxury and Lifestyle portfolio across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

His responsibilities will include supporting the growth of several of Hyatt’s leading luxury and lifestyle brands, including Park Hyatt, Alila, Andaz, Thompson and The Standard.

With travellers increasingly seeking distinctive hotels, personalised experiences and lifestyle-led stays, the luxury hospitality segment has become an important area of growth for major hotel groups. Fredrich’s extensive development background is expected to play a key role as Hyatt identifies new opportunities across the EAME region.

More Than 15 Years of Hospitality and Real Estate Experience

Fredrich brings a strong combination of hospitality development and real estate expertise to Hyatt’s regional leadership team.

He has previously held a senior development position with Hyatt, where he helped expand the company’s presence into more than 15 new markets across multiple brands. His earlier experience with the company gives him a strong understanding of Hyatt’s development strategy and brand portfolio.

Before returning to Hyatt, Fredrich served as Chief Development Officer at Corinthia Hotels. In that role, he contributed to the international expansion of the Corinthia brand, working on new market opportunities and development projects across several key destinations.

This combination of hotel development, brand expansion and real estate experience gives Fredrich a broad perspective on the opportunities and challenges involved in growing a global hospitality portfolio.

Hyatt Continues to Expand Its Luxury Hospitality Presence

Fredrich’s appointment comes as Hyatt continues to strengthen its Luxury and Lifestyle presence throughout EAME.

The company has recently added new properties to its regional portfolio, including Andaz Lisbon and Miraval The Red Sea, further expanding its offering across different luxury and lifestyle segments.

The development pipeline is also expected to bring several high-profile additions before the end of 2026. Upcoming properties include Thompson Seville, Thompson Rome and The Standard Lisbon, highlighting Hyatt’s continued focus on major European destinations.

Hyatt’s Luxury and Lifestyle collection in EAME currently spans 14 brands, more than 70 hotels and approximately 11,000 rooms across the region.

As the hospitality industry continues to evolve, the company’s growing portfolio reflects the increasing demand for premium accommodation that combines distinctive design, local character and personalised guest experiences.

A Strategic Appointment for Hyatt’s EAME Growth

Fredrich’s return to Hyatt comes at a time when the company is pursuing further growth across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

His previous experience within Hyatt, combined with his senior roles at Corinthia Hotels and Signa, positions him to identify new development opportunities while supporting the company’s long-term luxury and lifestyle strategy.

For Hyatt, the appointment is more than a leadership change. It represents another step in building a stronger presence in the region’s rapidly developing luxury and lifestyle hospitality market.
