Mark Eberwein has been appointed General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles, JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE and The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Los Angeles L.A. LIVE, bringing more than 20 years of luxury hospitality experience to one of the city’s prominent entertainment destinations.
With a career spanning luxury hotels across Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Hollywood, Eberwein has built a strong reputation for driving business growth, improving operational performance and creating memorable guest experiences. His latest appointment also strengthens the leadership of the L.A. LIVE properties as Los Angeles continues to attract leisure travellers, business visitors and major international events.
A Strong Hospitality Career in Los Angeles
Eberwein joins the L.A. LIVE properties after serving as General Manager of SLS Beverly Hills. During his tenure, he played a key role in reshaping the property’s commercial strategy, helping the hotel achieve its strongest-ever RevPAR index while delivering strong financial performance and maintaining high levels of guest and employee satisfaction.
His previous leadership roles include General Manager positions at W Hollywood, W Las Vegas and W Los Angeles – Westwood. Across these properties, Eberwein focused on strengthening market positioning, developing high-performing teams and improving overall hotel performance.
His experience also extends beyond individual hotel operations. Eberwein is actively involved in Los Angeles’ tourism and hospitality community, serving as Vice Chairman of the Los Angeles Tourism Marketing District Board and as a member of the Hotel Association of Los Angeles Board of Directors. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board.
Bringing a New Vision to L.A. LIVE
In his new role, Eberwein will oversee two major hotels within the L.A. LIVE entertainment district, along with The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Los Angeles L.A. LIVE.
The properties’ central location provides access to some of Los Angeles’ biggest entertainment, sporting and cultural attractions. Under Eberwein’s leadership, the hotels are expected to further develop experiences that reflect the city’s distinctive personality and dynamic lifestyle.
His plans include creating tailored accommodation packages, building partnerships with local and strategic brands, and developing experiences connected to major events and emerging lifestyle trends. These initiatives are designed to appeal not only to visitors but also to Los Angeles residents looking for premium dining, entertainment and hospitality experiences.
Strengthening the Food and Beverage Offering
Food and beverage will also be an important part of Eberwein’s new responsibilities. A certified sommelier and former Food & Wine Sommelier of the Year, he brings specialist knowledge of wine, dining and luxury culinary experiences to the properties.
One of the venues in focus will be Sendero, the Latin-inspired restaurant located on the 24th floor of The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles. The JW Marriott’s Glance, which recently underwent a redesign, will also form part of the property’s evolving food and beverage experience.
His culinary background could provide an added dimension to the hotels’ efforts to create distinctive dining experiences that resonate with both hotel guests and the local community.
