ibis Styles Mysuru Celebrates Second Anniversary with Pedal in Style

Cycling enthusiasts discover Ranganathittu and Karighatta through a unique anniversary experience

Mysuru, September 11, 2026 — Celebrating its second anniversary in Mysuru, ibis Styles Mysuru took a different route to mark the occasion. Instead of limiting the celebrations to the hotel, the property invited members of the city’s cycling community to explore some of Mysuru’s lesser-known landscapes and roads through a special cycling experience, “Pedal in Style.”

Organised in August in collaboration with Cyclopedia, a premium cycling store in Mysuru with strong connections to the city’s cycling community, the event brought together cycling enthusiasts for a morning that combined exploration, fitness, community and sustainable travel.

Cycling Through a Different Side of Mysuru

The “Pedal in Style” ride began at ibis Styles Mysuru before taking participants towards Ranganathittu, one of the region’s notable natural attractions. The destination has a particularly close connection with the hotel, as Ranganathittu’s bird sanctuary served as an inspiration for the design, visual identity and overall character of ibis Styles Mysuru.

From Ranganathittu, the cyclists continued towards Karighatta near Srirangapatna, where the route became both a scenic journey and a physical challenge. The climb towards the hilltop temple offered participants an opportunity to experience the landscape at a slower, more immersive pace while discovering destinations beyond Mysuru’s better-known tourist attractions.

Discovering Mysuru Beyond the Palace

Mysuru is internationally recognised for attractions such as the magnificent Mysuru Palace and its rich royal heritage. However, the destination has much more to offer beyond its iconic landmarks.

“Pedal in Style” highlighted this quieter side of Mysuru, taking participants through less-explored roads, natural surroundings and destinations that can easily be missed on a conventional city itinerary.

Travelling by bicycle also added a sustainable element to the experience. Cycling reduces dependence on motorised transportation while giving travellers the chance to connect more closely with the surrounding landscape, local communities and everyday life.

A Celebration Rooted in Community

After completing the ride, the cyclists returned to ibis Styles Mysuru, where the hotel team welcomed the group and thanked participants for being part of the second-anniversary celebration.

The morning concluded with breakfast hosted by the hotel and giveaways for the participants, creating an informal setting for members of Mysuru’s cycling community to exchange experiences and celebrate together.

Speaking about the anniversary celebration, Manali Gupta, Cluster General Manager, Grand Mercure Mysore & ibis Styles Mysuru, said, “Our second anniversary was an opportunity to celebrate our journey in Mysuru while discovering more of the city we call home. With Ranganathittu being an important part of our identity, taking the cycling community through the sanctuary and onwards to Karighatta made the celebration especially meaningful. It was wonderful to see our anniversary become a shared experience with the local community, while also encouraging a more sustainable way to explore the destination.”

Cyclopedia Brings Mysuru’s Cycling Community Together

The collaboration with Cyclopedia added a strong local connection to the event, bringing together cycling enthusiasts who already share an interest in discovering Mysuru on two wheels.

Lokesh Narasimhachar and Fariyal Jamadar, Founders of Cyclopedia, said, “We were happy to partner with ibis Styles Mysuru for this celebration and bring the cycling community together. The route offered a wonderful way to experience some of Mysuru’s lesser-known roads and destinations, making the morning about cycling, exploration and community.”

A Sustainable Way to Experience Mysuru

Through “Pedal in Style”, ibis Styles Mysuru turned its second anniversary into more than a hotel celebration. The initiative connected the property’s identity with Ranganathittu, strengthened its relationship with the local cycling community and encouraged participants to look beyond Mysuru’s traditional tourist trail.

For travellers looking to experience Mysuru differently, cycling offers an opportunity to slow down and discover the destination through its quieter roads, natural landscapes and lesser-known attractions. The anniversary ride demonstrated how tourism experiences can bring together local communities, sustainability and exploration in a meaningful way.
