Kochi, India: The Artiste Kochi, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, has announced the appointment of Jihan Jaleel as its new General Manager, bringing more than two decades of experience in the hospitality industry to the leadership role.
With a career spanning hotel operations, revenue management, guest experience and organisational development, Jaleel has worked with some of the industry’s leading names, including Marriott International and IHCL – Taj Hotels. Her appointment comes as The Artiste Kochi continues to establish its distinctive identity within Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio.
A Hospitality Career Built Across Leading Hotels
Jaleel began her hospitality career with Marriott at Courtyard by Marriott, the group’s first property in Kerala. Her professional journey later took her to prominent properties including Kochi Marriott Hotel and Taj Malabar, where she gained extensive experience across various aspects of hotel operations.
During her nearly decade-long association with Marriott International, Jaleel progressed through several operational leadership positions. She was also involved in major hotel initiatives, including pre-openings and renovation projects, gaining valuable experience in managing both established properties and new developments.
Her career has consistently focused on maintaining operational standards while enhancing guest satisfaction and strengthening commercial performance. She has contributed to improvements in areas including room profitability, food and beverage performance, guest experience and employee retention.
Driving Performance and Developing Hospitality Talent
As General Manager of The Artiste Kochi, Jaleel will oversee the hotel’s overall operations while focusing on three key areas: guest experience, business performance and talent development.
Her role will also involve strengthening the hotel’s position as a distinctive hospitality destination in Kochi. By combining operational efficiency with personalised service, Jaleel aims to further enhance the experience offered to both leisure and business travellers.
Her approach to hospitality has earned industry recognition, including the BW Hotelier South Zone Executive Housekeeper Award. She was also among the Top Five finalists in the Housekeeper category at the Hotelier Awards, highlighting her contribution to the industry.
