Paul Jones Returns to Mandarin Oriental Bangkok as General Manager
Bangkok, Thailand: Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok has welcomed back a familiar name as Paul Jones has been appointed General Manager, returning to the iconic property where his Mandarin Oriental journey began more than 20 years ago.
Jones previously served as Hotel Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, from 2005 to 2008. His return comes at a particularly memorable time for the property, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.
The appointment brings together Jones’ long-standing connection with the Bangkok hotel and more than three decades of experience in the international luxury hospitality industry.
A Hospitality Career Spanning Three Decades
Paul Jones brings more than 30 years of hospitality experience across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership positions at some of the world’s leading luxury hotels.
His Mandarin Oriental career has included General Manager roles at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore; Mandarin Oriental, Taipei; Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo; and Mandarin Oriental, Geneva.
These international assignments have given Jones extensive experience managing luxury hotel operations across different markets, cultures and guest expectations.
Before joining Mandarin Oriental, Jones also served as General Manager of The Oberoi Rajvilas and The Oberoi Vanyavilas in Rajasthan, India. Earlier in his career, he held various management positions in London and the Middle East.

Jones’ return to Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok is more than a new leadership appointment. It also marks a return to a property that played an important role in his professional journey.
