Atura Hotels has appointed seasoned hotelier Shannon Craig as General Manager of Atura Oran Park, adding the role to her existing position as Area General Manager NSW. The appointment comes as the new hotel prepares to welcome its first guests in October 2026, marking an important milestone for the Atura brand in South Western Sydney.
More Than 20 Years of Hospitality Leadership
Shannon Craig brings more than 20 years of hospitality leadership experience across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Her extensive career with EVT has included senior management roles across several well-known hotel properties and regional portfolios.
Before taking on her new role at Atura Oran Park, Craig served as General Manager of Rydges Parramatta, alongside her responsibilities as Area General Manager NSW.
Her previous experience includes leadership positions at Rydges Wellington, Rotorua, Atura Adelaide Airport, QT Canberra, Rydges Esplanade Resort Cairns and Rydges Kensington London.
With experience across different markets and hotel operations, Craig is well placed to guide the new property through its pre-opening phase.
Leading Atura Oran Park’s Pre-Opening Journey
The new 184-room Atura Oran Park is being developed as more than just a place for travellers to stay.
The property will feature contemporary guest rooms, a signature restaurant and bar, flexible conference and event spaces, as well as an outdoor pool and terrace. These facilities are designed to create welcoming spaces for hotel guests, businesses and the wider local community.
As General Manager, Craig will oversee the hotel’s transition from development to full operations. Her responsibilities will include building the opening team, recruiting and training staff, establishing operational systems and service standards, and developing strong relationships with local businesses, tourism organisations and the community.
A Strategic Location in Western Sydney
The arrival of Atura Oran Park comes at a significant time for South Western Sydney, a region experiencing rapid growth and development.
The upcoming Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, scheduled to begin operations in late 2026, is expected to further strengthen the region’s connectivity.
Atura Oran Park is located approximately 20 minutes from the new airport, placing the hotel in a strategic position to serve business travellers, leisure guests and visitors exploring Western Sydney.
Building a New Hospitality Hub
Atura Oran Park will follow the brand’s people-focused and design-led approach, with the aim of becoming part of the local neighbourhood rather than functioning solely as an accommodation property.
With accommodation, dining, events and social spaces under one roof, the hotel is expected to provide a new gathering place for both visitors and the Oran Park community.
