The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has promoted Abhissek Basu to General Manager of The Leela Jaisalmer, effective October 1, 2026. With over 24 years of experience with the luxury hospitality group, Basu brings extensive expertise in hotel operations, guest experience, commercial performance and team leadership.
The appointment follows his significant contribution to The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi and marks a new chapter in his hospitality leadership career.
Abhissek Basu Brings 24 Years of Experience with The Leela
Abhissek Basu has spent more than 24 years with The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, progressing from Management Trainee to senior hotel leadership.
His career spans flagship city hotels, luxury resorts and convention operations, providing him with broad experience across different hospitality formats.
Basu has also contributed to pre-opening assignments at The Leela Palace Udaipur and The Leela Palace New Delhi, alongside operational leadership responsibilities at The Leela Mumbai.
His extensive experience with the brand has helped him develop a strong understanding of luxury hotel operations, service standards and guest expectations.
Strong Performance at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi
During his tenure at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi, Basu contributed to strong business performance, improved guest experiences and the hotel’s achievement of several national and international accolades.

These capabilities will support his transition to The Leela Jaisalmer, where he will take on the responsibilities of General Manager from October 1, 2026.
