Al Jaddaf Rotana Complex Donates 476 kg Through Blessing Box Initiative
Al Jaddaf Rotana Suite Hotel, Arabian Park Edge by Rotana and Park Apartments Edge by Rotana have collectively donated 476 kg of pre-loved belongings and household items through their Blessing Box initiative, in collaboration with Malabes by Beit Al Khair Society. The initiative reflects the properties’ commitment to community welfare, sustainable living and responsible hospitality in Dubai.
Rotana Properties Support Community Welfare Through Blessing Box
Introduced as part of the properties’ ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts, the Blessing Box initiative encourages guests to donate pre-loved clothing, toys and books, alongside new, unused household items. By providing dedicated collection points within the hotel premises, the initiative makes it convenient for guests to support a charitable cause while promoting more mindful consumption habits.
The initiative particularly encourages long-stay guests to participate, allowing them to give unused belongings a second life rather than discard them. These contributions are then handed over to Malabes by Beit Al Khair Society to support its community welfare efforts.
Three Properties Collectively Contribute 476 kg of Donations
The initiative has received encouraging participation across all three properties, with each contributing to the collective donation effort.
- Al Jaddaf Rotana Suite Hotel: 290 kg
- Park Apartments Edge by Rotana: 150 kg
- Arabian Park Edge by Rotana: 36 kg
Together, the three properties contributed a total of 476 kg of donations, demonstrating how collective action by hotel teams and guests can help create a positive impact within the community.
Promoting Sustainability Through Responsible Hospitality
Beyond its charitable contribution, the Blessing Box initiative highlights the role the hospitality industry can play in encouraging sustainable practices. By promoting the reuse of everyday belongings, the programme helps reduce unnecessary waste and supports a more resource-conscious approach to consumption.
The initiative also demonstrates how hotels can integrate environmental awareness and social responsibility into everyday guest experiences. Simple actions, such as donating unused clothing, books and toys, can contribute to meaningful community support while encouraging more sustainable habits.
Stefan Schmid Highlights the Importance of Community Giving
Commenting on the initiative, Stefan Schmid, Complex General Manager, Al Jaddaf Rotana Complex, said:
“At Al Jaddaf Rotana, we believe that our responsibility extends beyond providing exceptional hospitality to creating a positive impact on the communities around us. The Blessing Box reflects our commitment to making sustainability and social responsibility part of everyday experiences.
“What makes this initiative particularly meaningful is the participation of our guests, who have embraced the opportunity to give their belongings a second life. Through our collaboration with Beit Al Khair Society, we hope to continue fostering a culture of generosity, where even the smallest contribution can make a meaningful difference.”
Strengthening Community Engagement and Sustainable Hospitality
Looking ahead, Al Jaddaf Rotana Complex remains committed to strengthening its community engagement and sustainability initiatives. Through continued collaboration, responsible practices and guest participation, the properties aim to demonstrate how thoughtful initiatives can contribute to a more compassionate and resource-conscious future.
The Blessing Box initiative reinforces the importance of collective giving, showing how the hospitality sector can extend its positive influence beyond the guest experience and into the wider community.
