Rosewood Hotel Group has appointed Sam Cooper as Vice President, Wellness, Global, strengthening its leadership team as the luxury hospitality group continues to expand and evolve its global wellness offering.
Based in New York, Cooper will lead the strategic development of Rosewood’s wellness platform, working across operations, design, brand and commercial teams to integrate wellbeing into different aspects of the guest experience. Her appointment reflects the growing importance of wellness in luxury hospitality and the group’s focus on creating more holistic and personalised guest journeys.
Sam Cooper Brings Over 25 Years of Luxury Hospitality Experience
Cooper brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across luxury hospitality and wellness, with a professional background in developing wellness strategies and managing high-end hospitality initiatives.
Before joining Rosewood Hotel Group, she served as Vice President of Wellness, Global, at Discovery Land Company. In that role, she oversaw wellness strategy across 38 ultra-luxury properties and developments worldwide, gaining extensive experience in creating and implementing wellness programmes across diverse destinations.
Her work involved bringing wellness into the broader hospitality and lifestyle experience, supporting initiatives designed to meet the expectations of discerning guests and residents.
Earlier in her career, Cooper held senior leadership positions at Canyon Ranch, further strengthening her expertise in the wellness and hospitality sectors.
Her experience across these organisations provides a strong foundation for her new responsibilities at Rosewood Hotel Group.
Leading Rosewood’s Global Wellness Strategy
As Vice President, Wellness, Global, Cooper will oversee the strategic development and continued evolution of the group’s global wellness platform.
Her role will involve collaborating with teams across operations, design, brand development and commercial functions to ensure wellness is incorporated into different elements of the guest experience.
Rather than treating wellness as a standalone offering, the focus will be on connecting it with the wider hospitality journey, creating opportunities for guests to experience wellbeing through thoughtfully developed services, spaces and programmes.
Cooper will report to Anthony Ingham, Chief Operating Officer of Rosewood Hotel Group. Working closely with the group’s leadership, she will help align wellness initiatives with operational priorities, brand identity and commercial objectives.
The Growing Importance of Wellness in Luxury Hospitality
Wellness has become an increasingly important part of the luxury travel experience, with hospitality groups exploring ways to bring wellbeing into accommodation, leisure, fitness and personalised guest services.
For luxury hotel brands, this creates opportunities to develop experiences that go beyond traditional spa treatments and address a broader range of guest interests.
Cooper’s appointment strengthens Rosewood’s leadership in this area, bringing experience in developing wellness strategies across international luxury properties and lifestyle destinations.
Her background is expected to support the group’s continued efforts to connect wellness with its wider hospitality philosophy while maintaining the distinctive identity of its brands.
