Patrick Manthe Appointed General Manager at Avani+ Luang Prabang

Minor Hotels has appointed Patrick Manthe as General Manager of Avani+ Luang Prabang in Laos, bringing more than 25 years of international hospitality experience to the 53-room property. With a career spanning Asia, Europe and Australia, Manthe brings extensive expertise in hotel operations, commercial strategy, resort management and guest experience.

A Swiss national with a strong background in luxury hospitality, he will lead the hotel’s operations and commercial performance while focusing on delivering memorable guest experiences inspired by the history and culture of Luang Prabang.

A Career Spanning More Than 25 Years in Hospitality

Patrick Manthe joins Avani+ Luang Prabang from Amari Pattaya in Thailand, where he served as General Manager. During his tenure, he oversaw resort operations, commercial performance, dining concepts and initiatives designed to enhance the guest experience.

Before joining Amari Pattaya, Manthe held General Manager positions at Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan and Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay in the Philippines.

At Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay, he led the property’s reopening and helped achieve record revenue and gross operating profit in 2022. He also worked to strengthen the resort’s identity by incorporating local art and cultural elements into the guest experience.

His experience across resort destinations has given him valuable insight into managing complex hotel operations while balancing commercial objectives with the expectations of modern travellers.

Extensive Leadership Experience Across Asia

Earlier in his career, Manthe spent four years as General Manager of Chatrium Hotel & Residence Riverside Bangkok. He was also involved in the pre-opening leadership of U Sathorn Bangkok, gaining experience in preparing hospitality properties for launch.

His professional background includes serving as Hotel Manager at Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn Bangkok and General Manager of Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi.

Manthe began his senior hospitality journey through food and beverage leadership roles with internationally recognised brands, including Conrad and Hilton.

Across these positions, he has gained experience in city hotels, luxury resorts, pre-opening projects and destination-focused hospitality operations. This diverse background provides a strong foundation for his new leadership role in Laos.

Leading Avani+ Luang Prabang Into Its Next Chapter

As General Manager, Manthe will oversee hotel operations, commercial performance and team development at Avani+ Luang Prabang.

His priorities will include maintaining Avani’s service standards, strengthening operational performance and creating guest experiences that reflect the destination’s rich cultural heritage.

Luang Prabang is known for its historic temples, traditional architecture, vibrant markets and distinctive local culture. For a hotel in this setting, connecting guests with the destination is an important part of the overall hospitality experience.

Manthe’s regional experience and background in developing destination-led offerings will support the property’s efforts to combine contemporary comfort with authentic local character.

He holds a Higher Diploma in Hotel Management from the Swiss School of Hotel and Tourism Management in Switzerland. He speaks German and English and has conversational proficiency in French.
