ITC Hotels: Starting with a Strong Foundation (2002 – 2004)

Shilpi began her career in hospitality at ITC Hotels, joining the pre-opening team of ITC Hotel Sonar Bangla Sheraton and Towers. Here, she honed her skills in guest services, conducting training for new recruits, ensuring guest comfort, and analyzing guest preferences. Her work laid the foundation for a successful journey in the industry.

Assistant Executive Housekeeper at The Oberoi, New Delhi (2004 – 2008)

At The Oberoi, New Delhi, Shilpi took on the role of Assistant Executive Housekeeper. Her responsibilities included checking VIP rooms, maintaining public areas, training new recruits, and designing training modules. This experience not only enhanced her leadership skills but also emphasized the importance of attention to detail and guest satisfaction.

Moving to The Oberoi, Rajvilas in Jaipur Shilpi served as the Executive Housekeeper in this uber luxury resort. Her role involved supervising room upkeep, maintaining landscaping, overseeing an in-house laundry, and creating memorable experiences for the guests.. Her contributions were vital to maintaining the high standards of the Oberoi brand.

Director of Services at J W Marriott, Mumbai, Sahar (2014 – 2017)

As part of the pre-opening team for the second J W Marriott in Mumbai, Shilpi played a crucial role in taking handover from the project team and standardizing processes in housekeeping, laundry, uniform room, and coordinating the entire rooms division operations. Her leadership contributed significantly to the successful launch of this prominent hotel.

Assistant Director of Rooms at J W Marriott, Mumbai, Sahar (2017 – 2018)

In this role, Shilpi was responsible for the complete operation of the rooms division, ensuring guest satisfaction and managing the P&L to maximize profitability. Her dedication to excellence continued to shine through.

Shilpi took on the role of Director of Rooms, where she was responsible for the entire rooms division operations, including front office, housekeeping, and the signature Spa by JW. Her leadership skills and commitment to customer service ensured the hotel’s continued success.

Conrad Bengaluru: Director of Operations (2022 – 2023)

Shilpi’s journey continued as Director of Operations at Conrad Bengaluru, where she played a pivotal role in enhancing guest satisfaction, whilst overseeing the entire operations of the hotel. Her expertise in customer service and hotel operations won her many accolades from guests and team members alike.

Hyatt Centric Juhu Mumbai: General Manager (2023 – Present)

Shilpi’s inspiring journey brings her to her current role as General Manager at Hyatt Centric Juhu Mumbai.
