Dhananjay Kumbhar’s remarkable journey in the field of security and loss prevention spans over a decade, shaping him into a seasoned expert in hospitality safety management. Today, as the Director of Loss Prevention at The St. Regis Goa Resort, Dhananjay leads a dedicated team, ensuring the safety and security of both guests and staff while managing risk and crisis situations with precision.

 

Since January 2024, Dhananjay has brought his wealth of knowledge and skills to Marriott International, specializing in Business Continuity Planning, Security Audits, Risk Management, Fire and Life Safety, and Investigation. His role involves overseeing the security operations across multiple properties, ensuring a robust security infrastructure, and conducting safety drills, while safeguarding valuable assets.

Before his current position, Dhananjay held the title of Director of Loss Prevention at The St. Regis Goa Resort, where he managed a team to enhance guest safety and protect the property against various security risks. His tenure there began in January 2024 and allowed him to further refine his expertise in asset protection and physical security operations.

 

His professional journey includes pivotal roles such as Director of Security at The Leela Palace Jaipur, where he spent eight months from January 2023 to August 2023, ensuring that the luxury property remained a safe haven for its guests. He also served as Security Manager at both The Leela Palace Jaipur and DoubleTree by Hilton Ahmedabad, where he gained valuable experience overseeing security functions across a range of high-end properties.

 

In earlier years, Dhananjay developed his foundational knowledge in security as Assistant Security Manager at Conrad Pune and Hyatt Regency Pune, where he learned the nuances of security operations and crisis management. His journey began humbly as a Security Guard at Wipro Software and quickly advanced through positions such as Loss Prevention Associate at JW Marriott Pune and Security Supervisor at Courtyard Marriott Hinjewadi.

 

Dhananjay’s expertise in loss prevention is backed by an array of specialized training in areas such as Risk & Crisis Management, Fire and Health Safety, and Physical Security Operations. With a career that reflects a commitment to safety, he remains dedicated to ensuring that the properties he oversees not only meet but exceed security standards.

 

Dhananjay’s extensive experience across global hotel brands like Marriott, Accor, Hyatt, Hilton, and The Leela has honed his ability to adapt security practices to meet the unique needs of each property, whether it’s a luxury resort or a business hotel.
