Los Angeles Tourism Appoints Eileen Hanson as New Chief Marketing Officer

Los Angeles is stepping into an exciting new chapter with the appointment of Eileen Hanson as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, effective November 18. With more than 25 years of global marketing expertise, Hanson’s arrival signals a bold move to elevate LA’s brand presence on the world stage.

Bringing a rich background in destination marketing, brand strategy, and large-scale integrated campaigns, Hanson is no stranger to Los Angeles Tourism. During her time with Westfield, she contributed to the organization’s Marketing Committee—giving her a strong foundation and a deep understanding of LA’s tourism vision.

Most recently, Hanson served on the executive team at Vantage Group, a global leader in airport and transportation development. There, she led fully integrated worldwide marketing efforts, shaping brand experiences for millions of travelers across various mobility destinations.

Her career is marked by influential leadership roles, showcasing her talent for crafting powerful travel-focused narratives:

  • Senior Vice President, Commercial Strategy – Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield
    Managed marketing for major airports and iconic retail hubs such as LAX, Chicago O’Hare, and Westfield World Trade Center, blending travel, retail, and customer experience with innovation.

  • Vice President, Marketing Strategy & Communications – Hilton Worldwide
    Directed global marketing for the award-winning Hilton Honors program and spearheaded a rebranding initiative recognized among Advertising Age’s Top 50 Marketing Achievements of the year.

Now, in her new role as CMO, Hanson is already building momentum—strengthening partnerships across Los Angeles’ tourism, hospitality, and business networks.
