Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) has appointed hospitality veteran Nils-Arne Schroeder as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective June 22, 2026. The appointment comes at an important time for the luxury hospitality group as it prepares to expand its presence across several key international travel markets.

With more than three decades of experience in the global hotel industry, Schroeder will oversee operations across Langham Hospitality Group’s portfolio of more than 30 hotels and residences. He will also play a key role in the opening and integration of more than 20 properties currently in the company’s development pipeline.

Schroeder’s appointment is expected to strengthen Langham Hospitality Group’s operational leadership as the company enters its next phase of international expansion.

In his new role, Schroeder will oversee Group Operations, Quality, and Sustainability while working to maintain consistent service standards and guest experiences across the group’s growing portfolio.

Langham’s expansion plans include its first hotel in Thailand, several new properties across China, and landmark openings in Italy and Malaysia in 2027. The group is also preparing for an anticipated debut in Saudi Arabia in 2028, adding to its growing presence across major global hospitality markets.

More Than 30 Years of Global Hospitality Experience

Schroeder brings extensive international experience to Langham Hospitality Group, having held senior leadership roles with some of the world’s best-known luxury hotel companies.

Before joining Langham, he served as Senior Vice President, Operations – Europe & Africa for Raffles Hotels & Resorts and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. In that position, he was responsible for hotel operations across a wide range of international markets.

His career also includes more than 20 years with Hilton, where he held senior leadership positions across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

His most recent position at Hilton was Vice President – Luxury & Lifestyle, Asia Pacific, while he also served as Global Brand Head for Conrad Hotels & Resorts.

Across his career, Schroeder has developed expertise in hotel operations, luxury hospitality, commercial performance, business development, strategic expansion, and hotel openings.

Schroeder to Be Based in Hong Kong

Schroeder will be based at Langham Hospitality Group’s headquarters in Hong Kong, where he will work closely with the company’s executive leadership team.

His responsibilities will extend across more than 50 existing and pipeline hotels and residences, putting him at the centre of Langham’s plans to expand its luxury hospitality portfolio globally.

Schroeder is also a graduate of Cornell University’s Executive and Professional Education program, completing the program in 2007. His combination of international hospitality experience and executive education adds further depth to his new leadership role.
