The Leela Palace Jaipur Unveils Jamavar: A New Chapter in Royal Indian Gastronomy
The Pink City is set to experience a new era of fine dining as The Leela Palace Jaipur proudly reimagines its iconic restaurant, Mohan Mahal, into Jamavar – the brand’s celebrated signature Indian restaurant concept. This transformation marks not only a culinary milestone for Jaipur but also a continuation of The Leela’s enduring legacy of True Indian Luxury, where art, heritage, and gastronomy intertwine seamlessly.
Taking inspiration from the exquisite Jamavar shawls of Kashmir, known for their intricate craftsmanship, the restaurant mirrors the same artistry through its design and culinary philosophy. The majestic interiors — adorned with over 3,50,000 hand-cut Thikri mirrors, reminiscent of Jaipur’s Sheesh Mahal, and embellished with 18-carat gold leaf detailing — set the stage for a dining experience steeped in regality. Each evening, guests are serenaded by live instrumental performances, evoking the spirit of Rajasthan’s royal courts.
At Jamavar Jaipur, guests can embark on a journey through India’s rich and diverse culinary heritage. Signature creations such as Gucchi Mutter Masala, Kofta-e-Jamavar, Dal-e-Jamavar, and Gosht ki Galouti sit alongside dishes inspired by the royal kitchens of Rajasthan. Every plate is a masterpiece — crafted with locally sourced ingredients and presented with a touch of contemporary elegance. The menu’s design, inspired by Parchinkari (Mughal inlay art), reflects meticulous attention to detail, both in presentation and taste.
What sets Jamavar apart is its immersive service ritual — beginning with a symbolic handwash ceremony inspired by 16th-century royal dining traditions. This thoughtful gesture brings a moment of grace and mindfulness before the feast begins, setting the tone for an unforgettable culinary journey.
In a beautiful reflection of The Leela’s commitment to diversity and gracious hospitality, Jamavar Jaipur will be led by an all-women service team. The restaurant also introduces a narrative-driven beverage programme, blending traditional recipes with modern mixology — an exquisite complement to its royal menu.
“Mohan Mahal has always been a cherished icon for The Leela and Jaipur’s dining scene. Its transformation into Jamavar is a tribute to its legacy and a continuation of our vision to redefine Indian fine dining,” shared Anoop Pandey, Vice President & General Manager, The Leela Palace Jaipur.
With Jamavar’s arrival, The Leela Palace Jaipur proudly joins the ranks of The Leela Palace New Delhi, The Leela Mumbai, and The Leela Palace Bengaluru, bringing this iconic dining experience to Rajasthan for the very first time. More than a rebranding, this transformation represents The Leela’s promise to continually elevate India’s gastronomic heritage for today’s global connoisseurs.
As Jaipur embraces this new culinary gem, Jamavar Jaipur stands poised to redefine luxury dining in the city — a place where every meal becomes a story, every flavour a journey, and every moment a celebration of India’s royal heritage.
